We entered this field because we care about people, possess the capacity to sit in heavy spaces, and learned how to survive overwhelming documentation, emotional labor, and complex systems.

Then, license renewal season inevitably knocks on the door saying: “Hi, remember those hours you meant to complete over the last two years?”

Let’s be honest—most of us didn’t become therapists because we love tracking continuing education hours.

No judgment. We have all been there. I build continuing education for counselors and therapists operating in the real world—not an idealized textbook fantasy. My goal is simple: provide professional development that respects your time, your budget, and your intelligence.  You shouldn’t have to sit through six hours of dry content wondering if you could have learned more from a decent supervision session and a strong cup of coffee. These courses are practical, clinically honest, and immediately usable with your very first client on Monday morning.

Taught by a Practicing Clinician, Not a Distant Academic

"I am actively in the room, in the supervision space, and drowning in the same paperwork loops as you—not just teaching from an ivory tower."

Our continuing education programs are developed and presented by a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas, Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), Active Clinical Director, and Assistant Professor. Because all CEU trainings offered through The Desired Journey are provided by a licensee with supervisor status, they confidently meet approved provider criteria for your mandatory board categories (including ethics and supervision hours).

Anthony Gama: The Strategy & Operations Behind the Magic

Anthony (who also goes by Gama) is the behind-the-scenes force helping bring the Three Seeds, One Garden Collective continuing education trainings to life. With a background in corporate training and professional development, he understands what it takes to create learning experiences that are organized, engaging, and actually enjoyable for busy professionals.

While Dr. Stephens brings the clinical expertise and the “let’s talk about the real stuff therapists need to know” energy, Gama makes sure the systems, technology, and logistics run seamlessly.

What Gama Handles:

  • 🚀 Coordinates training launches
  • 💻 Manages course platforms & technology
  • 📩 Supports registration & participant communication
  • 📜 Oversees certificate processing & completion tracking
  • Ensures a seamless experience from registration to completion

Basically, he makes sure the CEU magic happens without the chaos behind the curtain.

FAQS

Questions You Might Be Carrying

A few things people often wonder before reaching out.
Which of your CEU trainings should I take first?
Pick based on what you are facing right now. Take Ethics in Real-Life Clinical Practice if your renewal needs an ethics hour or telehealth and dual-relationship calls keep leaving you uncertain. Take Supervision Without the Guessing Game if you are stepping into supervising. Take Theories That Actually Show Up in Session if you want to feel more grounded in your clinical reasoning. Take Building a Sustainable Private Practice if you are building or rebuilding a caseload. All four are self-paced, so you can start today.
Will this training count toward my license renewal before my deadline?
Most trainings are designed to meet continuing education requirements for LPCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, and psychologists, depending on your state board's approval requirements. They are provided by a licensee with supervisor status, which falls within approved provider criteria for CE hours. Because every training is on demand, you can complete it the same day you enroll, which matters if your renewal is close. Confirm the specific category with your board if you need it counted a certain way.
Can this count toward my ethics hour requirement specifically?
Yes. Ethics in Real-Life Clinical Practice is built around ethics content and is provided by a licensee with supervisor status, so it can be applied toward ethics CE hours. If your board requires ethics hours in a specific category, confirm the details with them before you enroll so you know it lands where you need it.
How much does each training cost?
Trainings range from $25 to $350 depending on length and depth, with current pricing listed on each training page. Each one includes downloadable frameworks, handouts, and clinical tools that stay yours after you finish, so the cost covers more than the hours themselves.
How soon will I get my CEU certificate after I finish?
Certificates are typically issued within 3 to 5 business days after you complete the training. No chasing, no stress emails, no wondering whether it arrives before your renewal date.
