FAQS
Questions You Might Be Carrying
A few things people often wonder before reaching out.
How do I choose the right therapist for my specific needs on your team?
Each clinician on our team brings distinct specialties to their practice. For instance, Dr. Desiree Stephens, PhD, LPC-S focuses on Child-Centered Play Therapy, trauma, and neurodiversity support, while Katherine Washington, LMSW specializes in perinatal and postpartum women's health, and Collin Brower, LPC-Associate supports men’s mental health and recovery. You can read through our team profiles to find the therapist whose approach aligns best with your goals and book directly with them through our online booking portal.
What is the difference between an LPC-S, LPC-Associate, and LMSW on your team?
An LPC-S (Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor) is a senior clinician authorized to supervise other therapists. An LPC-Associate or LMSW is a fully licensed, master’s-level mental health professional actively gaining clinical experience under board supervision. Choosing an LPC-Associate on our team allows you to receive specialized care at lower self-pay rates while maintaining high clinical quality. We accept select insurance plans (Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare) and provide Good Faith Estimates for self-pay clients.
Can I schedule a session directly with my preferred therapist without waiting for a phone screening?
Yes. Once you select a clinician, you can book your session online by picking your preferred therapist, date, and time slot. Alternatively, you can submit a message through our contact form if you prefer our team to assist you with scheduling.
What happens during my first session with my chosen therapist?
Your initial 45-to-60 minute intake session focuses on building a secure, comfortable relationship with your therapist. Rather than a formal clinical test, it is a grounded conversation to discuss what brought you in, establish your personal or family goals, and outline a tailored treatment plan using evidence-based modalities like CBT, EMDR, Gottman Method, or Play Therapy.
How do I find a therapist on your team trained in specific modalities like EMDR, CBT, or the Gottman Method?
Our clinicians bring advanced training across multiple evidence-based therapeutic approaches. You can review individual team profile bios to see which therapist offers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR for trauma, Sandtray Therapy, or Gottman Method couples counseling. Once you find the clinician whose treatment style fits your goals, you can book a session online directly with them.
