Who This Supervision Is For
LPC-Associate Supervision is for counselors in Texas who are in the process of completing their supervised hours toward full licensure.
You may be early in your career and still finding your footing as a clinician, or you may already be working with clients and wanting more clarity, support, and structure as you grow. Many associates come into supervision feeling a mix of excitement and uncertainty—wanting to do good clinical work, but also second-guessing themselves at times.
You might be asking things like:
- "Am I conceptualizing this case correctly?"
- "What do I do when I feel stuck with a client?"
- "How do I navigate this ethically and confidently?"
Most associates are also balancing real-world pressures like full caseloads, documentation, imposter syndrome, and the transition from graduate-level thinking into real clinical practice.
This service is for you if you want supervision that supports your growth—not just checks a requirement box.
How We Help
Our Supervision Approach
Supervision at The Desired Journey is collaborative, supportive, and clinically focused. I use a developmental and strengths-based supervision model that meets you where you are and helps you build confidence over time.
We focus on helping you strengthen clinical thinking, ethical decision-making, and your professional identity as a counselor—not just completing hours, but becoming the clinician you're working toward being.
What a Supervision Session Looks Like
Supervision is a space where you can bring your real clinical work. We talk through cases, treatment planning, ethical questions, documentation, and anything that feels unclear or challenging in your practice.
This is a supportive space—not a performance space. You don't need to have everything figured out. You bring your questions, and we work through them together.

Dr. Stephens is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with extensive experience in clinical practice, education, and supervising emerging clinicians.

Issues We Address
Case Conceptualization & Clinical Thinking
We work on helping you understand what is happening clinically with your clients and how to translate that into effective treatment planning and interventions.
Ethics & Professional Development
We address ethical decision-making, boundaries, confidentiality, documentation standards, and navigating complex clinical situations in alignment with Texas LPC Board expectations.

We process real cases involving trauma, anxiety, depression, family systems, child and adolescent concerns, relationship issues, and behavioral challenges.
Documentation & Clinical Writing
We support you in strengthening your progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical documentation so they are clear, ethical, and clinically sound.
