A Warm Welcome

Welcome. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, I know that reaching out for help often takes courage. As a wife, mother, and therapist, I understand that life can bring challenges we never expected. My goal is to offer a space where you feel comfortable sharing your story, knowing you'll be met with compassion, understanding, and genuine care. You don't have to navigate life's difficulties alone.

Why I Do This Work

People don't need to be fixed; they just need a safe relationship where healing becomes possible. I believe every person has a story worth understanding.

My own life has taught me that hardship has the power to shape us in different ways. It can leave us guarded, angry, and disconnected, or it can cultivate compassion, vulnerability, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. While I would never wish suffering on anyone, I have seen how healing can transform painful experiences into resilience, wisdom, and hope. That belief is at the heart of why I became a therapist.

Who I Work With Best

I work with women who have spent years taking care of everyone else — women who feel invisible in a crowd, who are trying to rediscover themselves, who keep asking, "Why wasn't I enough?", who feel guilty for wanting something different, and who have lost sight of who they are because of what they've been through.

I also work with children who are anxious or struggling with big changes like death, divorce, or a new school — children whose parents have tried everything and don't know what else to try, whose parents feel like they're failing, and who need help expressing what they haven't yet learned to say.

How I Work

My Approach

When working with women, I use a person-centered approach grounded in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. I believe every woman carries a unique story, and together we explore how past experiences, relationships, and beliefs may be shaping the present. While I often integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, my primary focus is on creating a therapeutic relationship in which lasting change can occur. I believe healing is not about becoming someone new—it's about rediscovering who you are beneath the pain, fear, or self-doubt.

When working with children, I practice Child-Centered Play Therapy because I believe play is a child's natural language. Just as adults process experiences through conversation, children communicate their thoughts, feelings, and struggles through play. In a safe, accepting environment, children naturally move toward healing, emotional growth, and healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. Rather than directing a child's play, I trust their innate capacity for growth and provide the relationship that allows that process to unfold.

What a Session Feels Like

It is an incredible privilege to walk alongside women, children, and families as they navigate their own journeys. Whether I'm listening to a woman share her story or watching a child communicate through play, my goal is the same—to create a place where each person feels safe, accepted, and genuinely understood. I believe that when people experience that kind of relationship, healing becomes possible.

Areas of Focus

Healing After Trauma & Betrayal

Traumatic experiences and betrayal can leave lasting emotional wounds that affect how you see yourself, others, and the world around you. Together, we'll gently process your experiences, challenge the beliefs that trauma may have created, and help you rediscover the resilience and inner strength that have always been part of you.

Overcoming Anxiety & Self-Doubt

Anxiety often convinces us that we aren't enough, while self-doubt keeps us from recognizing our own value. I work collaboratively with clients to understand the roots of these struggles, develop healthier ways of thinking, and cultivate greater confidence, self-compassion, and emotional balance.

Helping Women Rediscover Themselves

Whether you're navigating relationship struggles, family changes, grief, identity shifts, or simply feeling lost in the many roles you carry, therapy offers a space to reconnect with yourself. Together, we'll explore your experiences, build on your strengths, and help you move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

Children Who Are Struggling in School

When a child begins struggling in school, it's often a sign that something deeper is asking for attention. Together, we'll explore what your child's behaviors may be communicating while providing a safe place for them to process emotions through play. My goal is not only to support your child, but also to empower you with greater understanding and confidence as you help them succeed.

Children Experiencing Anxiety

Anxious children aren't trying to be difficult—they're trying to manage feelings that can seem too big to handle alone. Through Child-Centered Play Therapy, children are able to express worries in their natural language of play, helping them develop confidence, emotional resilience, and healthier ways of coping.

Children Navigating Divorce & Co-Parenting

Divorce and changes in family structure can be overwhelming for children, even when parents are doing their very best. Therapy provides children with a consistent, accepting space to process their emotions while offering parents support and insight into how they can help their child feel secure, loved, and understood throughout the transition.

A Final Thought

Life has a way of taking us down paths we never expected. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship struggles, grief, life transitions, or watching your child struggle, you don't have to face it alone. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you or your child as you discover hope, healing, and the resilience that has been within you all along.

Joy in the Imperfect

I try not to take myself too seriously—some of life's best moments are the imperfect ones, like a new bread recipe that doesn't quite rise.

Understood, Not Fixed

My work is rooted in one simple belief: people don't need to be fixed—they need to be understood.

A Lifetime of Experience

As a therapist, wife, mother, and woman in my late 50s, I bring both professional training and a lifetime of lived experience into the room.

FAQS

Questions You Might Be Carrying

A few things people often wonder before reaching out.
Do you work with both women and children?
Yes. I work with women who are rediscovering themselves after difficult seasons, and with children navigating big changes like divorce, grief, or a new school—often supporting their parents along the way, too.
I've never been to therapy before. What is it like?
It's simply a space to be heard without judgment. There's no pressure to have the right words or to share everything at once—we'll move at a pace that feels safe for you, and you'll be met with compassion and genuine care.
How does play therapy help my child?
Play is a child's natural language. In a safe, accepting environment, children process their feelings and experiences through play—building confidence and emotional resilience, often before they have the words to explain what they feel.
What kind of therapy do you use with adults?
With women, I use a person-centered approach grounded in empathy and collaboration, integrating tools like CBT when they're helpful. The focus is less on 'fixing' and more on rediscovering who you are beneath the pain, fear, or self-doubt.
How do I get started?
Reach out to schedule a first session. We'll talk about what's bringing you or your child in, what you're hoping for, and take the next step together—in person in McKinney or online across Texas.
